One Last Self-Indulgence: SUNDAY FUNDAY

by T. Mack

olicity3

I’ve used this week’s rotation (Monday’s “Quotable”, Wednesday’s “Geek Chic” and today’s “Sunday Funday”) to indulge in a bit of wallowing over my feelings for ***SPOILER ALERT*** the recent demise of **END ALERT*** “Olicity” on the CW show, Arrow. And I’m sorry about that… sort of. But on the other hand, I’m totally not. Because this is my site and I can geek out about whatever I want… even if it’s the fictional relationship of two people I don’t know that gives me more feels than is reasonable or rational. So with that in mind, here’s my last indulgence: a fan-made video of Olicity looks, smiles, declarations and other special moments set to the soft, sad, beautiful voice of Ed Sheeran.

Geek News: FUNNY FRIENDS FEY & POHLER ARE HILARIOUS SISTERS IN NEW TRAILER

By T. Mack

Funny ladies Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are never too far away from each other, it seems. The real-life best friends are back together again in a new film where they play sisters. The preview hit the internet this week and looks hysterical. It reminded me of the teen party movies of the 90’s, but all grown up. Raise your hand if you remember Can’t Hardly Wait. Raise the other if you remember seeing American Pie in theaters and hearing the term “MILF” for the very first time. This new trailer takes me back to my senior year of high school and reminds me of those movies if we were to make one here in our 30’s instead. In fact, I think that’s exactly what these ladies did. And for that, I thank them.

COMIC CON GOODNESS: Leaked ‘Deadpool’ Trailer is Everything We’ve Been Hoping For

By T. Mack

We were already hella excited that Ryan Reynold’s is Deadpool. And in our hearts, we are still thanking whoever it was that leaked the test footage last year that eventually got us the upcoming Deadpool movie. We have seen pictures of Reynolds as the anti-hero, but we have still been awaiting our first glimpse of video footage. This weekend, the lucky bastards who attended the Deadpool panel at SDCC were given the chance to watch the very first trailer for the film… twice.

Of course, one of them leaked it. Because that’s what we geeks do. We share the love! Check out the fuzzy-but-still-super-awesome leaked trailer below. Then tell us in the comments if you’ll be heading to theaters in February to check out this movie about the hilarious “Merc with the Mouth.”

COMIC CON NEWS: Merida Joins Season 5 of ‘Once Upon a Time’

By: T. Mack

A new addition to ABC’s Once Upon a Time was announced today during the show’s panel at SDCC. Merida from the Pixar film, Brave, will join the cast of the show’s 5th season. The spunky, redheaded archer was revealed in a new clip that shows off her skills with a bow and reminds us of the first time we were exposed to her wild and unruly signature mane. Merida will be played by Amy Manson (Atlantis). Check out the clip below and let us know in the comments if you will be tuning in to OUAT this Fall.

COMIC CON GOODNESS: ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ Trailer

By T. Mack

The CW panel at SDCC isn’t until tonight. And during it, there will no doubt be more goodness and news to come at us. However, the network didn’t wait to give their awesome new trailer exclusively to the attenders of the con. Yesterday, they released another trailer for the Arrow and The Flash spin-off, Legends of Tomorrow. (While the video didn’t debut at the con, I’m still counting it as Comic Con Goodness because we all know it was specifically timed to coincide with the events this weekend)

The series begins airing mid-season and will likely offer lots and lots of cross-overs with its predecessors. Yay! The new video, called Hero Evolution, is awesome! Check it out below then take to the comments to tell us whether or not you will be watching this new show when it comes to television in 2016. COMIC CON GOODNESS: New ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ Trailer

By T. Mack

I must confess, when the first teaser trailer for Batman v Superman hit the net months ago, I was unimpressed. Today, SDCC brings us a new, fuller trailer with more details and a better idea of what pits the two superheroes against each other. I am now less unimpressed. While I’m still not convinced about Batfleck, I’m more hopeful about this movie being half-decent. Also, it was nice to finally see Wonder Woman, if only for a split second. Check out the trailer and take to the comments. What do you think of Batfleck and the chances of the new film being awesome? Let us know.

SQUEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Comic Con brings so much goodness. Here’s the first trailer for the upcoming Sherlock Victorian Christmas special.

Geek Tyrant reports that Steven Moffat has yet to begin writing the show’s fourth season. So we still have quite a while to wait for it. In the meantime, we SHERLOCKED masses will simply have to look forward to the Christmas special and let it hold us over until the next full-length, 3-episode season.
