It’s the season of gratitude! Unlike many, I don’t actually love Thanksgiving. It’s basically just the holiday that stands in the way of it being socially acceptable for me to fully embrace my Christmas enthusiasm at midnight on November 1. However, I do appreciate that many people try to stop and take a moment to be grateful for the good things in their lives. For the Love… of Dragons

I don’t watch HBO’s Game of Thrones. Yes, I know it’s “really great” and “epic” and “one of the best shows to ever grace television screens” or whatever. But the series also features a particular brand of ultra-violence to which I prefer not to expose myself. So I don’t watch the show. I do, however, binge-watch clips on YouTube of scenes that feature the character, Daenerys Targaryen. Why?! Because she’s the frakking Mother of Dragons! That’s why! And because dragons are AMAZING!

Geek News: THEMARYSUE.COM SAYS “NO MORE GAME OF THRONES”

no_gotTheMarySue.com, a website dedicated to female-centric geekdom–kind of like SisterGeeks.net–has issued an announcement that they will no longer be promoting HBO’s Game of Thrones. The declaration went out this past Monday that the website has opted to discontinue offering support to the program due to its use and depiction of graphic sexual violence toward women.  Continue reading
