I’m a little late to the Parks and Recreation fan train. But I’ve found that with fandoms, it’s never really too late to be a fan if you’re willing to fully embrace it. In the spirit of fully embracing this fandom, I’ve found some perfect accessories to ladies’ night with my favorite girls. So let’s raise a glass to powerful ladies, beautiful land mermaids, best friends and Galentine’s Days.

I desperately hope you have watched the show, American Gods. If not, that is a situation you really need to rectify. Now! The series is based on the excellent Neil Gaiman book of the same name (which I also highly recommend). I’ll have more on the series this Friday when American Gods kicks off my latest list of TV shows you should definitely be watching. In the meantime, check out some very cool American Gods gear from our favorite source for geek-tastic goods: Etsy.

June’s theme is fantastic, magically beautiful monsters: Mermaids, Dragons, and Unicorns. Just like last month, we’ll each feature a creature for one week. Then we’ll all come together to gush about them toward the end of the month. Today, we’re kicking things off with mermaids!
Since you know all we sistergeeks do around here is drink, here are a few options for mermaid drinking throughout the day. There’s something perfect for any occasion! Continue reading

I have more books that my multiple bookshelves can hold, which means they usually just get stuck on the shelf at awkward angles in my desperate attempt at trying to find a spot for all of them. Recently, I decided that displaying my books needs to be done more artistically. I need to actually try to make them look good. But honestly, I just do not have the time to figure out of the cute ways to make my book shelves look nicer. And I am just not much of a DIY-er. And this is where this week’s Geek Chic comes in. I am going out of town to a wedding this weekend, and I started thinking about cute wedding themes. Which then led me to think about cute, geeky wedding themes. This week’s Geek Chic is inspired by the Buffy, the Vampire Slayer marathon I am currently watching while writing this. There happens to be a marathon on focused on the last few episodes of season 3, which you may remember centers around the Mayor’s Ascension planned to happen at graduation. I started feeling pretty nostalgic, so I started an Etsy search to find some gear to rep’ Sunnydale High school spirit! Go Razorbacks! Continue reading
