Happy Christmas Eve Eve Eve to you all! As we wrap presents, watch Christmas movies, and patiently wait for Santa to bring us all the geeky presents, it’s time to discuss the real point of Christmas… Doctor Who Christmas specials! Every December 25th we are visited by the world’s most popular guys: Santa and the Doctor. One guy brings presents and the other guy has such an incredible presence. See what I did there? As it is only December 22nd and we must wait a whole 3 more sleeps until the best day of the year, we need to distract ourselves. And I have the perfect distraction: a list! And not just any list. It’s a list of my top 10 Christmas specials*. Hold on to your T.A.R.D.I.S. because here we go!
I will be discussing highlights and plot points of past Doctor Who episodes which you really should have watched by now.

A bit of surprising news came down the pike on Friday as the BBC announced that Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat would be stepping down and Chris Chibnall would be replacing him after series ten in 2017. In addition, Doctor Who will have only the Christmas special in 2016; Moffat’s final season will not air until the first part of 2017. Chibnall will take over the show’s helm for series eleven in 2018. Continue reading →
I spend quite a bit of time in my kitchen and not just at the holidays. As a Whovian, I find it hard to resist a TARDIS anyway, but throw it on something for my kitchen and I’m ready to hand over my cash. The holidays might be over in a few days, but these kitchen items can be a great gift anytime you need a little something for yourself or your closest Whovian. Continue reading →
Since her introduction in season four of Doctor Who‘s regenerated life, River Song has managed to become an instant classic character in the show’s epic line-up. The brain-child of Steven Moffat, River first showed up with David Tennant’s 10th Doctor, went on an emotional journey through time with Matt Smith’s 11th Doctor, and is scheduled to meet up with Peter Capaldi’s 12th Doctor during this week’s Christmas special. River is vivacious and voluptuous, sexy and romantic, a badass with a vulnerable side. She’s a doctor in her own right, a professor, a historian and an archaeologist. She has been Cleopatra, she created the oldest graffiti in the universe, she breaks out of high security space prison whenever she feels like it and she jumps out of space ships into deadly outer space while wearing a ballgown and a smile. She’s just totally stinkin’ cool! Here are only 10 of the innumerable reasons to love River Song. Continue reading →
I’m an only child, but I’ve managed to find family in the geek community. My sister geeks and I have created this site, but that doesn’t mean we don’t value our brother geeks as well. I’ve asked my favorite baby brother geek, Brandon, to share his thoughts on the latest season of Doctor Who, which recently ended. Since I am the most outspoken Whovian around here, I thought it might be nice to hear from someone else. Brandon and I always talk Who as well as all other things geek, so I’m incredibly pleased to introduce him to the SisterGeeks community. -T. Mack
