The car trip seemed unbearably long. Eva’s dad had just told her that he and her mom were getting a divorce. She wasn’t shocked. They had been fighting for years, but still she felt like a kid peeking into the ocean and realizing that life was so much bigger than she thought. Continue reading →
This summer, we spent each month on a trio of monsters. Each of us covered a specific beastie and highlighted why they were better than the rest. Of course, we all have our personal favorites. Which specific monster reigned in each category?
The term “alien” is usually associated with something extraterrestrial, or not of this planet. You may picture intelligent different beings that long only to communicate with us and share information. Or perhaps you envision a warlike species that thirsts for the domination of the human race. They might be our saviors or the unlocking to our ultimate demise. Will you take a journey with me, my fellow geeks, a journey that allows you to suspend your disbelief and exposes you to a world…a world full of aliens? Continue reading →
This month is all about the magical creatures we love. Jen P talked Mermaids, T. Mack bragged on Dragons, and Ana gushed about Unicorns. Now we’re bringing you one more reason to love all these creatures. T. Mack and Jen P spent a wild night creating these magical monster drinks especially for you (and us) to enjoy!
What is it about unicorns that draws the human eye to them? Is it their proximity to the real life existing creatures called horses? Or is it that mystical part of them? The one horn that in some form or another always contains some kind of special power? What makes unicorns so different from any other magical creature?
They look scary, they make scary sounds, and they will never stop trying to get what they want…human flesh. They are…zombies. Your favorite may be the slow moving, the fast running, or the intelligent and loving zombie capable of change, but regardless, all these creatures want to do is embrace you-and not in a fun “oh this person loves me so much” way. More like in a “oh God, why didn’t I wear a protective helmet?” way. Why do we fear zombies? Why do we love zombies? Geeks, let me take you through a blood splattered walk down memory lane, and we’ll figure it out together. Continue reading →

We are devastated to have to report the news that Alan Rickman has passed away at the age of 69. The beloved actor had been battling cancer for some time. He was surrounded by family and friends in London at the time of his passing on Thursday.
Many of his friends, co-stars, and admirers are expressing their sadness at the actor’s passing. J.K. Rowling said in part, “There are no words to express how shocked and devastated I am to hear of Alan Rickman’s death. He was a magnificent actor & a wonderful man.” Rickman was in the business for over 30 years with one of his most iconic characters being Severus Snape in the Harry Potter franchise. Personally, this is my favorite role the actor ever took on. Continue reading →
T. Mack read a book and discovered there was a TV show based on it. Ana watched a TV show and found out T. Mack had read the book it was based on. SisterGeeks’s first team-up was born, basically by accident, simply because these girls were on the same wavelength. Today, SisterGeeks is all about Bitten: the book by Kelley Armstrong and the television show based on it.
Check out T. Mack’s review of the book right here.
