May is almost over and soon June will be upon us. And June is not holding back with the entertainment. There are tons of new books, movies, and returning shows making their appearance in June and this geeky girl could not be more excited. I’ve started to mark all these wonderful upcoming things in my calendar so I do not miss one amazing moment of anything. Follow me along as I go through all the things I’m looking forward to in June!
Y’all another Cassandra Clare book comes out in June and I am so hype about it! Ghosts of the Shadow Market follows all the chaos that occurs in the strange, but exciting Shadow Market that is visited by all types of creatures, vampires, Shadowhunters, warlocks, etc. The best part about this book is that it specifically follows Jem (Brother Zachariah) and his adventures in the Shadow Market. You all know I love Jem Carstairs so much and would read anything about him. I can not wait to get my hands on this book. I’m also excited for Danielle Vega’s new horror book. The end of her Merciless series disappointed me because the series went on way too long, but this is new book and possibly a stand alone, so I’m open to giving this book a chance considering Danielle Vega is one of the best YA horror authors out there. Her new book The Haunted follows a new girl in town who brings all her dark and secret past with her. Soon she learns her family has moved into the most evil and haunted house in town. Of course, she doesn’t believe in ghosts (they never do, do they?) and then things start going bump in the night. Vega hasn’t done paranormal before, so I’m really excited to see where she takes this story.
The Handmaid’s Tale will be return in June and I’m both excited and scared. Excited because the show is absolutely amazing both in the writing and the visuals. Scared because every time I watch a new season, it’s like America gets closer and closer to the structure of Gilead. It’s frightening to see so many similarities in the show that I can see in everyday life here. Anyways, I can’t wait to see where these characters go next and I’m hoping June, the main character, can find some kind of happy ending.
Yo, so many good movies come out in June! Toy Story 4 comes out in June and I am ready for it! Toy Story is my favorite Pixar franchise and after hearing that Tom Hanks was openly weeping while doing his last few lines for this movie, I know I will need to bring approximately 900 tissues to see this movie to dry my mountain of tears. Men In Black International also comes out in June. I’m a big Men in Black fan. I know this movie won’t have Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones in it, but I’m excited to see what Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson can bring to this franchise. Also, if you ever go to Universal Studios, the Men in Black ride is amazing. Lastly, the movie Yesterday will come out in June. In this movie, a young man is in an accident. Shortly after, he is coping with music and plays The Beatles song Yesterday for his friends. They are astounded that he wrote such a beautiful song. He tries to explain that the band The Beatles wrote the song, but no one knows who The Beatles are. Everyone in the world has forgotten The Beatles except him, so takes on their songs and music as his own and becomes a huge star. But of course, it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. I love The Beatles and think this is such an interesting movie plot. I’m pretty hype to see it.
4. Other things…
In June I’m looking forward to reading tons more and to begin planning to do NaNoWriMo with T. Mack in November! I’m looking forward to enjoying warm weather and the outdoors. I’ll also begin planning my Stranger Things season 3 viewing party for the 4th of July! There’s lots of good things to look forward to and I can’t wait. Hurry and get here, June!
