Outlander Season 3 Gets a Premiere Date

Finally, we know when Droughtlander will come to an end! Season three of the hit Starz drama Outlander will premiere on Sunday, September 10th. The show aired its season finale for season 2 in July 2016. Season three will pick up where that final episode left off, bringing the third book in the Outlander series, Voyager, to viewers worldwide.

Starz’s announcement of a premiere date also came with a poster for the new season as well as a couple of other wee treats.

Here is the poster in action!

To follow that up, Starz released another glimpse at Claire in 1968, contemplating what’s next now that she knows that Jamie survived the Battle of Culloden.

Filming for season three was finished in mid-June, with the cast and crew wrapping in South Africa after shooting there and in Scotland. Sam Heughan reported that the cast and crew will return to start filming season four in the fall.

In the meantime, as we await the new season’s premiere, Outlander will grace the cover of Entertainment Weekly again this September and will continue to release teaser images from the new season as the remaining weeks of Droughtlander fades into memory.

For a refresher about what to expect from Outlander‘s third season, here’s the lone (so far) season three teaser to whet your appetite:

Starz is available on all major cable and satellite systems. You also can subscribe to Starz through Amazon Prime. Outlander will return September 10th for its third season. The newest season will cover the book Voyager.
