This weekend marks the premiere of the long-anticipated and highly mistrusted Batman Vs Superman. I, for one, have plans with friends and pre-purchased tickets to the show. However, I’m not expecting to love the movie. And I doubt I’ll even like it a lot. I figure it will likely be something like “passable.” I already hate Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor (the trailer showed me all I needed to see) and Batfleck will have to work awfully hard to convince me he doesn’t suck. Reviews are already in and the movie is not getting much love. As of 9:00am CST on Friday morning, the film sat at 30% on However, this week has brought us some hope for the future of Batman films. Even if it turns out we all hate, detest and despise Batfleck (who has been given the next three stand-alone Batman movies), we now have at least one Batman movie we can look forward to in 2017.

Following the success of The Lego Movie in 2014, a spin-off film is coming featuring the arrogant and ridiculous Lego version of the Dark Knight. The film will be filled with amazing voice talent, including Will Arnett (Batman), Michael Cera (Robin), Ralph Fiennes (Alfred), Rosario Dawson (Batgirl), Zach Galifianakis (Joker), and Mariah Carey as the mayor of Gotham. I loved The Lego Movie and am pretty pumped about this upcoming spin-off, set to hit theaters on February 10, 2017. I have to admit that I’m actually more excited about The Lego Batman Movie than I am about Batman Vs Superman. We’ll see if I still feel that way after seeing BvS this weekend. Spoiler alert: I probably will.

Did you like The Lego Movie? Do you think The Lego Batman Movie will be hilarious or a ridiculous waste of time, talent and resources? Will you be checking out Batman Vs Superman this weekend? Do you think you’ll love it? Let me know in the comments.
