All right my geek lovers, you know I have some Harry Potter news for you. No it’s not about the new Harry Potter: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, but don’t worry, it’s still good. We all know that our beloved series is being re-released in a new illustrated format. Well, if you didn’t know that then now you do. The good part is that we have some all new sneak peeks into some of the upcoming illustrated images. Bloomsbury decided to give fans another tease and debut some of the new images on Wednesday. Check them out.
Harry himself

Jay King is the mastermind illustrator behind the new artwork and thankfully, he has J.K. Rowling’s stamp of approval. Let’s be honest, nothing should be done with Harry Potter unless Jo gives it the thumbs up. Jo was quoted saying, “Seeing Jim Kay’s illustrations moved me profoundly. I love his interpretation of Harry Potter’s world, and I feel honoured and grateful that he has lent his talent to it.” Talk about some high praise!
King also gave us an insider’s peek into how he creates these images by releasing a video showing the models he uses for the scenes and characters. In the video, King shows how he created everything from Dobby to Hogwarts. Click here to see the video via Buzzfeed.
Take a look back at these images that were released earlier in the year.

I have to say that I am so excited about this illustrated series. As the mother of a very young future Potterhead, this allows me to introduce the books to her at an even earlier age. Believe me when I say that she is already very familiar with the films. She requests to watch it often. It makes me quite proud.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone will be released October 6, and you can bet I will be there to get one with bells and whistles on!
How do you like the new images? Will you be purchasing the new series as it is released?
