Back in April, Brian Grazer, executive producer of Arrested Development, confirmed the that show would definitely receive a 5th season on Netflix. That is, of course, great news! It means we will get seventeen brand new episodes of one of America’s funniest families.

At the time of that announcement, no release date had been set for the season. This week, Grazer shared that filming for the new season will begin next January and it will be available to watch some time in the summer of 2016. The delay in the start of filming is due to scheduling complications and the determination to keep everyone involved. Not a big deal though, right? It won’t be the first time we’ve had to wait a while for more time with the Bluths. The gap between seasons three and four spanned seven years from 2006 to 2013. When we remember that, a single year doesn’t seem so bad.

Did you watch the 4th season of Arrested Development on Netflix? Did you think it was as good as the previous seasons that aired on FOX? Will you binge-watch season five when it’s ready to stream next year? Tell us in the comments.
