Once upon a time (1993-2002), there was a television show that grabbed our imagination, scared the crap out of us and turned us into believers that the truth is out there. We ate up the strange and terrifying adventures of our favorite FBI agents-of-the-extraterrestrial for nine seasons. After the show ended, we never really let go of our love for Moulder and Scully. In January, more than 10 years after the show ended (and more than 20 after it first began), the show will return with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson coming back to the iconic roles that made them household names.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Duchovny tells of how reading the first script for the 6-episode season brought him to tears.
It was so strange to see the names on the page. It had nothing to do with the script itself. It was just like, I’d been talking about this for a long time. We’d been planning it for a long time. It took a long time to get all the people int he same place and get the deal with FOX. So let’s say two years we’ve been talking about doing it. Now it’s the fun part. Now we actually get to do it.
Did you watch X-Files when it was on in the 90’s? What do you remember most? Will you check out the new X-Files? Let us know in the comments.
