The reunion we’ve wanted for so long has happened at last… sort of.
The year was 1999. The movie was Cruel Intentions. And the result was an entire generation that would never be quite the same. Cruel Intentions, a remake of the 1988 film, Dangerous Liasons, was a box office success and still holds the love of many more than 15 years after its release. So much so that The Unauthorized Musical Parody of CRUEL INTENTIONS actually became a real thing earlier this year. The show, which plays at Rockwell: Table & Stage in L.A., has been getting a lot of attention.
This week, it got a bit more. The original stars of the film, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Reese Witherspoon and Selma Blair, reunited for a girls night out and went to see the musical. Nineties girls everywhere swooned then turned green with envy. No one could possibly argue with Selma’s assessment on Instagram. This definitely has to constitute the very “Best girls night out.”
